United Way of Mat-Su’s governance structure strengthens the organization’s leadership and accountability. Annually evaluating board and member performance, including ethical standards, is a part of this effort. Board members must possess the following key attributes: a passion for United Way’s mission and vision, a commitment to invest time as an active member, an ability and desire to take a system-wide perspective and a demonstrated commitment to his/her community. Our Board is now comprised of diverse volunteers who are senior representatives of the largest, most influential donors and sponsors, noted intellectual, civic leaders and other stakeholders.
UWMSB Executive Director Stephanie Allen joined the staff in May 2007. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding nonprofit leadership, health promotion program development and implementation, management of budgets and finances as well as building collaborations and partnerships with other organizations throughout the state and local community. She has a Masters degree in Education from Southwest Texas State University where she focused on Physiology and Research and Design. She serves on the Mat-Su Borough's Health & Social Service Board, is on the Operations Board of the Foraker Group, is past President of the Alaska Health Education Consortium and past Chair of Take Heart Alaska’s Worksite Health Promotion Committee. She lives in Palmer with her husband Rick, sons Rhys & Houston.
Chelsea Fields joined the United Way of Mat-Su staff in June 2015 and brings with her the experiences and skills from being the Mat-Su Community Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska. Prior, she traveled throughout the state coordinating health fairs as a Program Director for Alaska Health Fair, Inc. Chelsea has a Bachelor of Social Work with a focus in Interpersonal Relations from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. She settled in the Valley in 2011 after falling in love with Alaska's natural beauty and sense of community. In her personal time, Chelsea enjoys traveling, yoga, hiking, sewing and spending time with her husband, TJ, and English Springer Spaniel, Henry.

As the Marketing and Events Coordinator, Ashley Kincaid joined the United Way of Mat-Su staff in March 2011. She has her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design and her Bachelor of Science degree in Art Education from the University of Idaho. Ashley was a collegiate athlete and played volleyball for Columbia Basin College. Ashley is originally from a farming community in Idaho and enjoys coaching volleyball and pursuing her artistic endeavors in her free time.
Staci Manier became a staff member at the United Way of Mat-Su in February of 2014. Prior to joining the staff, she completed two practicums with the United Way of Mat-Su. Staci holds a Bachelor of Human Services degree from the University of Alaska. She has volunteered extensively in her community and especially enjoys working with youth. Originally from S.E. Alaska, Staci and her family moved to Palmer in 2004. She enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her family.
